An important message from your piece is “…traveling is about witnessing, not judging. “Look but don’t judge…”. That applies to most, if not all, about life. Discern, but don’t judge. Wonderful, interesting, and informative. The pictures really added to your writing. How do you make the coconut coffee? Looks scrummy (scrumptious) as the Brits say. Also, the cold lemonade drink, what’s in that? You and your family attracted great people on your trip. Thanks for sharing.

Your email was what prompted that piece! Appreciate you sparking my thoughts for it. As for the coffee recipe here is one I found that is the same as they showed me in Vietnam: https://coffeevoila.com/vietnamese-coconut-coffee-ca-phe-cot-dua/

It's delicious! For the cold lemonade, they called it "kumquat tea" but upon researching, it's not what we in the US know as kumquats, it's a fruit called calamansi. It's like a very small lime, but orange inside. Kind of a cross between a mandarin and a lime. Sweet but sour. I haven't found calamansi in the US, it looks like it's mostly an Asian fruit. I did however, find a sparkling water that is calamansi flavor that has been keeping me satisfied (although not the same as the real thing). They sell it at our grocery store in Austin and in Walmart and Target I've seen it too https://drinksanzo.com/products/calamansi-12-pack

Always sleep with earplugs. You can’t hear mosquitoes with earplugs in. 🙂

Oh I was wearing them alright!! Mosquitoes love me and my ears still hear them, they are the one thing that turn me into a monster 😂. And I wake up looking like a corn on the cob from so many bites!!
